New truck stops chooses ‘higher quality’ burger joint

Published:

A new Pennsylvania truck stop is proud to be offering ‘higher quality’ food to passing truck drivers thanks to the opening of a new burger joint.

Wayback Burgers recently opened at the new Lucky 7 Travel Plaza at  7 South Pine St. in Lock Haven, Pennsylvania, and the owners say it’s been going well.

The truck stop opened on July 15th, 2020 at the Walnut Street exit just off the beltway, and added the burger joint in September.

“There’s not too much on this side of town. We’re hoping with us being here, it will bring some development,” said location manager and son of the owner, Sunjeet Singh to The Express.

“There are multiple factories located nearby that have trucks in and out all day. We will see a steady flow of traffic coming by our location.”

“We were really impressed with the restaurant layout and the business model of Wayback Burgers,” said Sunjeet Singh Jr. to Restaurant News. “Since we have other truck stop locations to manage, we felt we needed something fairly easy to learn and operate. The brand offers so many great training methods that can be learned quickly.”

Singh also added that the fresh ingredients used in Wayback Burger’s recipes were a huge factor in choosing that franchise for the location, and that they felt this brand was a “higher quality” than the food typically offered at truck stops.

“We’re going to have a little bit of everything,” Singh said “As we grow, I’m sure we’ll be adding more things. We’ve got the essentials right now.”

The travel Plaza also offers laundry and shower facilities for truck drivers, and will soon feature a casino-area with five slot machines.
