New video and photos have surfaced that show the magnitude of a major pileup crash in Minnesota on Thursday morning.

The crash occurred during winter weather conditions just after 9 a.m. on Thursday morning on westbound I-94 at Highway 25, east of Monticello, Minnesota.

The Minnesota State Patrol now says that approximately 30 vehicles were involved and that half of them were semi trucks.

Several of the vehicles involved in the pileup caught fire. Troopers say that one of the trucks that caught fire was hauling a load of tractor tires.

Eastbound I-94 reopened around 1 p.m while westbound I-94 remains closed as crews work to clear vehicles off the interstate.

Nine people were taken to the hospital for treatment of non life-threatening injuries.

Facebook user JoseLuis Acuna Del Valle shared jarring video of the aftermath of the massive pileup.
