Transportation officials have issued a travel ban on trucks hauling empty trailers on a portion of the New York State Thruway until further notice due to winter weather conditions.
The empty trailer ban went into effect at 3 a.m. on Thursday, February 27 and impacts both directions on travel on the Thruway from the Lackawanna Toll Barrier to the Pennsylvania state line.

It isn’t clear how long the empty trailer ban will remain in place.
The New York State Thruway Authority warns drivers to drive to conditions today as wind gusts of up to 55 m.p.h. could cause blizzard conditions.
