Passenger killed after bus crosses into path of oncoming semi truck

A bus passenger was killed Tuesday afternoon after the bus swerved into the path of an oncoming semi truck. 

The accident occurred on October 6th in Idaville, Indiana. 

According to the Pharos Tribune, the bus was traveling west along Highway 24 when, for unknown reasons, it crossed the centerline into the path of an oncoming semi truck. The truck was unable to avoid a collision with the swerving bus and the two vehicles collided head-on, killing one passenger on the bus and injuring several others. 

While waiting for emergency personnel to arrive, one motorist who works as a nurse pulled over to offer medical assistance. She did not wish to be identified. 

One emergency responders arrived, the bus driver was air-lifted with serious injuries, while two other bus passengers were driven to a nearby hospital. Their current conditions are unknown. 

The truck driver was uninjured in the accident.
