POLICE: Hit-and-run leaves semi truck torn in half

Published:

A semi truck was torn in half after a potential hit and run motorist sent the rig crashing into a pole on Sunday evening.

The crash happened at around 11:45 p.m. on Sunday, November 15th in Goodyear, Arizona.

According to AZ Family, the FedEx semi truck was traveling along Interstate 10 near Bullard Avenue when police say it was struck by a Honda that promptly exited the highway.

The force of the impact sent the rig off of the right side of the roadway and into a pole, splitting the trailer in half.

The truck driver was transported to the hospital with minor back injuries, but is expected to recover.

Police say that several other FedEx employees showed up to the scene to collect spilled packages.

The investigation is still ongoing and police have yet to locate the motorist involved.
