Police say suspect ran over trucker during robbery attempt

A truck driver is recovering after he was hit by a car while attempting to stop suspects from stealing items from his semi truck in Oklahoma on Wednesday.

The incident occurred on the afternoon of Wednesday, July 15, at a location near 61st and Garnett in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Tulsa police say that two suspects in a car pulled up alongside a parked semi truck.

The male driver of the car then got out and tried to enter the semi truck through the driver’s side window in an apparent attempt to steal items.

The truck driver spotted the robbery attempt and the male suspect returned to his vehicle.

Police say that the truck driver stood in front of the car to try to stop the suspect from fleeing.

The suspects hit the truck driver with the car, sending him crashing through the windshield and into the lap of a female passenger.

The male suspect then fled on foot.

The truck driver was taken to the hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. Police say that the female passenger was also transported because she was intoxicated.

Tulsa police are still looking for the male suspect.
