POLICE: Truck driver arrested after attempted meet-up with officer posing as child

Published:

A truck driver has been arrested after attempting to convince an officer posing as a 13-year-old girl to travel across the country with him.

41-year-old Curtis Wayne England was booked into the Utah County Jail near Mesa, Colorado on Wednesday, August 19th.

According to Deseret News, England had been chatting online with a girl who he believed to be 13 years old. He invited her to travel to Las Vegas and Texas with him and arranged a time for them to meet up, even instructing her to say she was his daughter if anyone asked.

“As they continue to chat, Curtis tells her that he drives semi trucks and will be heading to Las Vegas the next day and then to Texas,” the affidavit states. “Curtis tells her that she can come with him to Vegas and then Texas but he only has one bed and mentions that she can sleep with him in the bed.”

As the conversation continued, England became more and more sexually explicit, telling the undercover officer that “she has to do what she is told or he will spank her” and that “he is going to ‘make you a woman.”

“Curtis also came up with a new name she will be called to other people. He said that he didn’t want anyone to see her get in the truck and to stay in contact with him until he got there,” police wrote.

When England arrived at the meet-up location, a team of police officers were there to meet him, placing him under arrest.

Upon searching the truck, officers also discovered “a female who admitted to prostituting herself so he would take her out of Washington because she had a full extradition warrant out for her arrest. She was found to have been told it was his daughter he was going to see.”

England is facing charges of attempted child kidnapping, attempted rape of a child, attempted sodomy on a child, obstructing justice and enticing a minor.
