Ready for new HOS rules on Sept. 29? This ‘cheat sheet’ can help.

Published:

Ready or not, truckers will need to operate under a new set of Hours of Service (HOS) requirements starting at the end of September — and if you’re not prepared, this fact sheet can help you get up to speed.

The FMCSA debuted the HOS Final Rule on May 14, 2020, after two years of active development, with an implementation date of September 29, 2020.

The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) recently released a comprehensive fact sheet breaking down the upcoming HOS changes and providing answers to frequently asked questions in a concise format.

The HOS “cheat sheet” takes a closer look at changes to the short haul exception, the adverse driving conditions exception, the 30 minute break, and sleeper berth requirements.
