Red-light runner gets wedged beneath big rig

A car got itself stuck beneath a semi truck after running a red light in Chicago on Monday.

The accident happened on October 26th at approximately 8:23 a.m. on the south side of Chicago.


According to ABC 7, the 24-year-old motorist ran a red light in the 5500-block of S. Wentworth and ended up wedged beneath the tanker truck, which dragged the car around 100 feet before the truck driver realized that something was wrong.

The motorist was transported to a nearby hospital with lacerations, but was in stable condition.

The truck driver was not hurt in the incident.


The accident is still under investigation.
