Safety alert issued for Missouri interstate for wood thrown at trucks

A major trucking association issued a safety alert to members traveling on a Missouri interstate.

According to the Illinois Trucking Association (ITA), at noon on September 12, a group member reported that people standing on the overpass were throwing wood at trucks traveling on westbound I-44 at mile marker 163 in Missouri.

So far this year, truck drivers across the country have been targeted nearly every week by gunfire or thrown objects.
