Semi dumps $325,000 worth of whiskey on Missouri highway

A semi-truck hauling 12,000 bottles of Templeton Rye whiskey overturned last Wednesday.

The spill happened around 5 a.m on U.S. 71 near the Missouri- Arkansas border.

McDonald County Sheriff’s deputies reported to the scene.

Approximately 40,000 lbs of alcohol was spilled, blocking southbound lanes.

Emergency crews contained the mess into one lane and were able to begin the clean-up process, which took several hours.

The driver of the semi was not injured.
