A Michigan Sheriff’s Office shared dash cam video captured on Monday shortly before the truck driver was arrested.
The video was shared by the Eaton County Sheriff’s Office on Tuesday along with a description of the circumstances leading to the August 31 arrest:
This morning around 748 am we started to receive calls about a semi that was all over the road N/B I-69 in Calhoun County and entering Eaton County. ECSO deputies were able to intercept the semi just south of Charlotte. Deputies attempted to stop it, however the semi would not pull over. The semi did not appear to be fleeing however continued to be all over the roadway. Deputies followed with lights and sirens activated and other deputies/officers got in front of the semi to alert other traffic. Deputies eventually were able to get the semi stopped on Lansing Rd near I-69 in Windsor Twp around 809 am. The driver exhibited signs of impairment and was eventually arrested. The fully loaded semi tractor trailer was towed from the scene. The passenger side of the semi was muddy and covered with portions of grass where it had ran off the road in Calhoun County. We want to thank the caller(s) who called in to alert us of this dangerous situation. We also want to thank our partners at the Michigan State Police and Potterville Police for their assistance.
