Sheriff’s Office Pleading for Truck Driver to Return Dog That Was Found Running in the Roadway

According to the Botetourt County Sheriff’s Office in Virginia, a truck driver “took” a dog that was running loose on a roadway.

The sheriff’s office posted that the incident occurred on June 29, 2020 at approximately 3:20 pm at the intersection of Brookfield Lane and Willowbrook in the 1000 block of Blue Ridge Boulevard (Route 460).

A witness told police that the dog was running loose and a truck driver stopped his white semi truck on the side of the road and retrieved the dog from the roadway.

The sheriff’s office said that the dog belongs to a nearby resident. The dog, a female long-haired Dachshund, is named Schatzi.
