Teenagers lead police on lengthy pursuit in stolen semi truck

Published:

Two teenagers led police on a long pursuit in Michigan on Wednesday after stealing a semi truck from a local business.

The trailer was stolen by a 16-year-old and a 14-year-old on October 7th from the 3000 block of Corporate Grove in Hudsonville, Michigan at around 6:45 p.m.

According to M Live News, employees were able to tell police the truck’s location using a GPS tracker, but the teenage driver fled as soon as officers arrived. The teenager driver then led police through rural areas of northern Allegan County, and then north on 96th Avenue in the Zeeland area before heading back east on Business Loop I-196.

Officers were eventually able to use spike strips to disable the truck, sending the rig veering off the road and into a residential neighborhood near 48th Avenue. Luckily, there was minimal damage to property and no one was hurt.

Both teenagers were then taken into custody. The 14-year-old was later released to their parents but the 16-year-old has been taken to the Ottawa County Juvenile Detention Center.
