An independent trucking insurance agency recently announced a new donation program designed to do good for the men and women of the trucking community.
OTR Risk Management says that they will donate $50 for every Auto Liability policy they they write to two of the nation’s most notable trucking charities — St. Christopher Truckers Relief Fund and Trucker’s Final Mile. The company says that the donations will begin in September and will continue for the foreseeable future as a way to show support for the trucking community.
St. Christopher Truckers Relief Fund was established in 2007 and is a 501(c)(3) charity that provides assistance to the families of truckers who are out of work due to injury or illness. The fund provides household living expenses to help support the families of drivers who are out of work due to medical issues. The St. Christopher Relief Fund also supports preventative medical programs aimed at improving truck driver health.
Truckers Final Mile is a 501(c)(3) charity founded by a 30 year veteran truck driver that helps to reunite families with their truck driver loved ones who suffer serious illness, injury, or death while out on the road. The organization is best known for their efforts in returning the remains of drivers who pass away while they are over the road to their families.
The donations in support of these two charity organizations is OTR Risk Management’s way of giving back to the men and women of the trucking industry who keep our country rolling.
