The Florida Highway Patrol says that a tornado touched down in Marion County on Monday, causing highway havoc as it tore a portable building off of a moving semi truck.
The incident occurred around 10:15 a.m. on April 20.
Troopers say that a truck was hauling a 36 foot portable building southbound on I-75 near mile marker 340 when the tornado touched down.
The tornado lifted the building off the moving trailer, causing it to strike a southbound pickup truck.
The tornado then carried the building across the northbound lanes of I-75 and dumped it onto the grassy shoulder, destroying the structure.
Troopers said, “Thank God nobody was killed or injured!”
