Troopers issue warning after semi strikes elk on I-90

You mess with an elk, you get the antlers.

The Washington State Patrol (WSP) is warning drivers to use extra caution after an elk strike did major damage to a semi truck on Monday morning.

According to the WSP, the elk strike occurred on eastbound I-90 at mile marker 122, about 13 miles east of Ellensburg.

Troopers shared photos of the extensive damage that the semi incurred and warned drivers how much worse it could have been. “Now imagine if it was a smaller vehicle,” wrote Trooper John Bryant.

Bryant also warned drivers to “do your best scan the roadway especially in the area between Kittitas & the Vantage Bridge on I-90.”
