Truck driver accused of severely beating man who booted his semi in Walmart parking lot

A truck driver is facing felony charges following a parking dispute at a Walmart location in Kansas late last month.

Thirty-eight year old Minnesota-based truck driver Mustafa Egal has been charged with aggravated battery with great bodily harm, according to a report from Fox4KC.

The charges stem from an August 24 parking dispute at a Walmart location in Gardner, Kansas.

According to reports, police responded to a call at the Walmart and found a bleeding tow truck driver lying in the parking lot.

Police later learned from witnesses that the tow truck driver had been called to the scene because Egal parked in the Walmart lot in spite of the location’s no truck parking policy.

The tow truck driver booted Egal’s semi.

After he was booted, police say that Egal attempted to drive off and struck the victim’s tow truck.

After the crash, Egal reportedly exited his truck and beat the tow truck driver with an metal bar.

Witnesses said that Egal tried to flee but that onlookers convinced him to stay on the scene and render aid to the victim.

The tow truck driver suffered serious injuries, including broken facial bones and a bruise on his brain.

After Egal was arrested and booked into jail, he was released on a $25,000 bond. He is scheduled to appear in court on October 6.

This is not the first time that a confrontation involving an employee applying boots to semi trucks ahas taken a violent turn. In 2018, a truck driver was struck by a car during a dispute over a boot after parking at a Walmart location in Perry, Georgia.
