A truck driver has been charged with vehicular homicide by recklessness in an accident that claimed the life of a motorcycle driver.

The driver David Hayden, 63, was arrested on Tuesday following a crash that took place on July 10.

An investigation revealed that Hayden, who was driving on north on Briley Parkway in Nashville, TN, missed his exit to Interstate 24. As a result, Hayden stopped on the parkway and was intending to turn back across the gore area to access the exit ramp.

Roderick Left, 35, was driving a 2002 Suzuki motorcycle and crashed into the rear of his stopped trailer.

Left was taken to Skyline Medical Center where he died; Hayden was not injured.
