A truck driver has been arrested for an alleged drunk driving incident after fleeing the scene of his crashed rig, police say.

The crash happened on Wednesday, October 14th just after 9 p.m. south of Yreka, California.

According to Fox 26, 52-year-old Rodney Cavan was driving his Freightliner south on Interstate 5 when he lost control of the rig and overturned, blocking both lanes of the highway. Cavan then fled the scene on foot but was later found by police.

Cavan was taken into custody for driving under the influence of alcohol. The California Highway Patrol is still investigating the incident and say more charges may be filed against the driver.
