An unidentified truck driver was found deceased in his truck in Westville, New Jersey on Sunday.
According to CBS Philadelphia, Empire Diner owner, Dervis Akturk, said he noticed the truck was parked behind his restaurant Thursday night.
“I was just thinking to myself too, it was Fourth of July weekend, where is he going to deliver? Everything is closed,” Akturk told CBS.
Akturk said the truck was constantly running. He thought the driver was just resting over the holiday weekend but when he hadn’t seen any movement from the truck by Sunday, he became worried and knocked on the truck’s windows.
When the driver didn’t respond, Atkurk called police.
Police are investigating the incident. The cause of death is unknown. The driver’s identity has not been released.
