Authorities in Texas say that a truck driver lost his life in an early morning crash on Sunday after colliding with a parked truck at a rest area.

The fatal crash occurred around 2:30 a.m. on Sunday, November 1, in Oldham County near Adrian, Texas.

The Texas Department of Public Safety says that 23 year old California-based semi truck driver Sarabjit Singh was eastbound on I-40 when he swerved off the interstate and crashed into a parked truck at a rest area.

The driver of the parked truck was not injured, but Singh was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities said that the truck was legally parked at the rest area.
