Truck driver transported to ‘major trauma’ center after crashing into tree

Published:

A truck driver was seriously injured after colliding with a tree early Tuesday morning.

The accident happened on October 13th at around 5:30 a.m. in Elba, Alabama.

According to ABC News, a truck driver was travelling northbound along Highway 87 when they veered off the roadway and struck a tree.

The force of the impact knocked over the tree and partially ejected the driver, trapping the rest of them inside the cab.

Firefighters then spent nearly an hour cutting the tree in order to free the driver. Once freed, the driver was transported to a local medical facility before eventually being transferred to a ‘major trauma center’ for further treatment.

The reason behind the crash, as well as the driver’s current condition, is not known.
