Truck spills 40K pounds of chicken poop, causes ‘odoriferous situation’

Published:

Colorado authorities are dealing with an awfully stinky situation after a truck rolled and spilled tons and tons of manure.

The incident occurred Thursday morning in Jefferson County, Colorado, on the ramp from westbound Interstate 70 to C-470.

The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office says that a blown tire caused a truck hauling 40,000 pounds of chicken manure to roll over, spilling the load.

No other vehicles were involved and no injuries were reported.

Cleanup and removal of the rolled truck is expected to to take several hours.

Golden Fire-Rescue is on scene to help with what they called an “odoriferous situation” and said that “firefighters on scene say the pictures don’t do the smell justice.”
