Trucker accused of assaulting trucker over load securement disagreement

Published:

A truck driver is accused of assaulting another truck driver after the two got into an argument over tarping and strapping a load.

The incident occurred last Thursday at approximately 5:15 pm at the Okahumpka Service Plaza on the Florida Turnpike.

Lorenzo Davis, 55, is accused of attempting to strike a fellow truck driver who met Davis at the service plaza to swap loads, as Davis’ truck was broken down.

When the victim met Davis, the two got into an argument over load securement. Davis then allegedly disconnected the other truck’s airline and then entered the victim’s truck.

Police were called to the scene and Davis was arrested on charges of burglary and battery. He was taken to jail and was later released on a $6,000 bond.
