Trucker reportedly assaulted with knife during robbery attempt in Ohio

Police are investigating after a truck driver was assaulted last night on an Ohio interstate.

The attack occurred on September 9 on I-76 in Wadsworth, Ohio.

So far, the Ohio State Highway Patrol has released few details about the attack, but the initial report indicates that the truck driver was stabbed by two male suspects during an apparent robbery attempt.

The truck driver survived the attack and was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment of non life-threatening injuries.

After the attack, the suspects fled the scene in a dark colored pickup truck.

Troopers say that the investigation is still unfolding as of Thursday morning and they have not released information about the arrest of any suspects.

However, a Facebook post from the Wadsworth Police Department indicates that there are currently no suspects at large.

The incident closed westbound I-76 and caused a serious traffic backup in the area.
