Trucker shot in leg by SUV driver during road rage spat, police say

Police in Washington state have asked for public help in locating a motorist who injured a truck driver during a a suspected road rage incident earlier this week.

The shooting happened around 7:25 a.m. on Monday, January 6, in Kent, Washington.

Police say that the driver of a light-colored SUV pulled up alongside a semi truck and opened fire, striking the 55 year old truck driver in the leg before leaving the scene.

The truck driver was taken to the hospital for treatment of non life-threatenining injuries.

On January 7, the Kent Police Department issued a call for public help in locating the suspect vehicle and shared several photos obtained from surveillance video. So far, police have only described the shooter as an “adult male.”

Kent Police Detectives were able to locate video of a vehicle seen in the area. The video showed a light colored sport SUV that was traveling northbound on 84th Ave S, suddenly make a U-turn and then continue southbound. Kent Detectives would like to find the owner of this vehicle and talk with them. 

Additionally Kent Detectives would like to speak with any witnesses that may have been in the area between 7:20A to 7:30A and witnessed the incident.
