The Maine Department of Public Safety reports that all employees are accounted for and that no injuries were reported. About 500 people are employed by the mill.

Maine State Police and the State Fire Marshal’s Office are on scene to investigate the cause of the explosion. The preliminary investigation indicates that a rupture in a pressure vessel was to blame for the blast.

Truck driver Rick Pratt was waiting in a line of trucks at the mill and managed to capture unbelievable footage of the explosion. In the video, you can see that his truck is pelted with a large amount of debris in the moments after the explosion occurred.
