Truckers use air horns to disrupt White House press conference

Published:

On Friday, a group of truckers continued to lay on their air horns, interrupting the President of the United States as he addressed the nation from the White House.

During a press conference held at the White House Rose Garden, Trump’s speech was interrupted by blaring air horns from a group of protesters who have been parked along Constitution Avenue in Washington D.C. for two weeks.

“Those are truckers that are with us all the way. They’re protesting in favor of President Trump, as opposed to against, and that’s a sign of love, not the sign of your typical protest, so I want to thank our great truckers. They like me, and I like them. We’re working on something together,” Trump told the press as the horns blared in the distance.

Protesters are asking for action on a number of issues, but their chief complaint is cheap freight and broker transparency. Many of the protesters say that their goal is to meet with Trump himself.

The truckers appear to be learning that the President will respond to strategic application of their air horns. On Thursday, Trump was also forced to address the topic of the truckers after they disrupted an interview Fox Business’s Maria Bartiromo hosted on the White House lawn.

The strategy has earned the protesters mainstream media coverage by outlets like The Guardian and The Hill.
