Two arrested after crashing into parked semis at Illinois truck stop

Published:

Two men were arrested early Wednesday morning following a truck stop parking lot crash.

The crash occurred around 4:30 a.m. on Wednesday, October 7, at a Pilot truck stop location in Morris, Illinois, according to local news outlet WCSJ.

Police were called to the scene after a vehicle driven by Shane Balson, 29, crashed into the driver’s side of a parked semi truck, causing that truck to hit another semi parked next to it.

No injuries to the truck drivers were reported, but a passenger in Balson’s vehicle, Clayton Corbett, 26, was suffering from an apparent overdose. Police reportedly administered four doses of Narcan.

Both Balson and Corbett were taken to a hospital for treatment. They were later arrested and charged.

Balson faces charges of possession of a controlled substance, two counts of DUI, and reckless driving. Corbett was charged with possession of a controlled substance.
