Tyson Foods announces $60 million in bonuses for truckers and other frontline workers in pandemic

Published:

On Wednesday, Tyson Foods announced that they will be giving out millions of dollars worth of bonuses as a “thank you” to their driver and other workers who are operating during the COVID-19 crisis.

On March 31, Tyson Foods announced via a blog post that they would provide nearly $60 million in “thank you” bonuses to 116,000 frontline team members and Tyson truckers in the U.S.

The one-time $500 bonus will be paid out in the first week of July and will be based on “work attendance in accordance with our relaxed COVID-19 attendance policy during the months of April, May and June”

Tyson Foods also detailed several policy changes designed to protect workers from the virus, including providing facial coverings upon request and taking worker temperatures prior to entry into the facility.

“We’re proud of how our team members have stepped up during this challenging time to make sure we continue fulfilling our critical mission of feeding people across America,” said Tyson Foods CEO Noel White.
