A portion of Interstate 80 was shut down for major cleanup efforts after a truck overturned, spilling a load of scrap metal across the roadway.
The accident happened on Tuesday afternoon, November 10th in Salt Lake City, Utah.
According to the Utah Highway Patrol, the semi truck “took a corner too fast and the trailer spilled its entire load of scrap metal,” all across SR-201 westbound at 650 west.
The mess forced the closure of all lanes on the 201 ramp as crews worked to clean up the spill.
The wreck was cleared by 6 p.m. that evening.
UHP attributes the wreck to “driver error” and says that the unnamed truck driver was not injured in the incident.
