UPDATE: Woman allegedly responsible for throwing child from moving car is now in custody

Police have arrested a woman in connection to the death of a child on a highway in Arkansas earlier this week.

30-year-old Whitney Turner-Tyson was arrested Tuesday night, September 15th after allegedly throwing her child from a moving car earlier that day, reported KATV News.

Turner-Tyson is currently being held at the Saline County Jail where she is facing charges of capital murder, first degree battery and endangering the welfare of an incompetent person. The judge has ordered no bond.

This incident is the second instance of child-death on Arkansas highways this week. Just hours before the child was dropped from the car, two other children were killed on Highway 67 after being struck by a semi truck as their mother apparently stood nearby.
