Utah truck travel ban lifted, trooper’s dash cam catches wild blow-over

On Wednesday morning, Utah authorities lifted all truck travel restrictions put in place the day before due to extreme high winds.

On Tuesday morning, the Utah Department of Transportation issued a truck travel ban for Weber, Box Elder, and Davis Counties due to high winds.

In spite of the truck travel restrictions, authorities said that at least 45 trucks were blown over on Tuesday. The Utah Highway Patrol reported that 4 truck drivers were taken to the hospital for treatment of non life-threatening injuries.

While the truck travel ban was lifted in Box Elder and Weber Counties later in the day on Tuesday, it wasn’t until Wednesday morning that the travel restrictions were lifted in Davis County.

One of the dozens of blow overs was caught on dash cam by a Utah Highway Patrol officer.
