VP Pence thanks truckers at Virginia Walmart distribution center

Published:

This week, Vice President Mike Pence visited a Walmart distribution center to offer words of thanks and encouragement to truck drivers and other workers.

On Wednesday, April 1, Pence visited a Walmart distribution center in Gordonsville, Virginia, to thank workers who are keeping supply chains moving in the face of the COVID-19 crisis.

While at the distribution center, Pence spent time talking to Walmart truck driver Earnest Allen and praised him for his three and a half million safe miles. Pence thanked Allen and called him part of our nation’s “critical infrastructure.”

During his visit, Pence said, “I had to come out and see a truck driver. You guys are burning up miles every day making sure the American people have food, supplies.”

Pence also promised to come back one day to shake Allen’s hand.

Pence also took to the loudspeaker to thank all of the workers at the facility. He said, “The fact that you’re showing up every day – rolling your sleeves up and doing the work – it shows you love your neighbor and you love your country. Every day you come here, you’re making a difference for America.”

Thank you, Walmart and Team 7016!
