A Mississippi truck driver was recently honored by his company for hitting an impressive safety milestone.
On March 11, truck driver James Luckett was recognized at the Brookhaven Walmart Distribution Center in Mississippi for driving 4 million miles without an accident during his 31 year career with Walmart.
Luckett is only the 11th Walmart truck driver to achieve 4 million safe miles.
Walmart presented Luckett with a $10,000 check to mark the occasion.
In addition to the check, the Mississippi Highway Patrol was on hand for the recognition event. Luckett was made an honorary trooper.
Luckett told local news outlet the Daily Leader the secret of his success: “Stay focused and be aware. You’ve got to have a good attitude. That will keep you focused.”
