Police later said that an out-of-state man who was wanted by law enforcement drove into the truck stop parking lot, walked inside the restroom, and killed himself with a gun.
No other injuries were reported.
The bomb squad also responded to the scene after reports that the man had explosives or hazardous materials, but it isn’t clear whether any were recovered.
“In 84 years we have never had any incident. No matter what he was involved in, his life is lost and that is a tragedy,” truck stop owner Ed Flynn told WHDH.
The identity of the man has not been released and it is not clear what he was wanted for.
This is a developing story.
