‘Hammer Down’ is a brand new action-packed short film with a plotline that will resonate with any truck driver. From start to finish, this short is filled with drama and challenges that only truck drivers would know about life on the road.
The film tells the story of a widowed truck driver who goes by the handle Hammer Down and his daughter, Power Wheels. ‘Hammer Down’ follows the two as they travel to deliver a load of mysterious cargo and the emotions that play out as a result.
Hammer Down is played by This Is Us star, Chris Sullivan, who has hinted that a feature film might also be in the works.
The film was directed by Simon Hatt, who was a producer on the Guardians of the Galaxy sequels, The Suicide Squad, and Brightburn.
Hatt spent some of his childhood days traveling with his brother and his father, who was a truck driver. The experiences he had while on long haul trips provided inspiration for the film.
