Wyoming roadways shut down for 10 inches of September snow

Wyoming transportation officials are warning drivers to seek alternate routes after a heavy (and very early) snow storm shut down roadways.

On the morning of Tuesday, September 8, the Wyoming Department of Transportation (WYDOT) announced that  WYO 251 and WYO 258 are closed after 10 inches of snow fell in the Casper area.

Several stretches of I-80 are also closed due to winter-like weather (even through fall doesn’t start until September 22!).

WYDOT says that due to the snow, travel on all other area highways is not advisable due to snow and slick road conditions.

The snow isn’t the only severe weather snarling travel on Tuesday morning — high winds have also blown over several trucks and resulted in restricted travel in several counties in Utah.
