Five people are dead and 15 more were injured in a pile up crash caused by a semi truck’s brake failure.
The accident happened on Sunday, December 5th in Coahuila, Mexico.
According to Mexico News Daily, cars were lined up on Highway 57 northbound waiting for another accident to be cleared when a semi truck coming down the hill experienced brake failure. The rig then crashed into the line of cars, tossing aside people who were standing outside of their vehicles in the traffic and even ejecting others from the inside of their vehicles. One SUV was pushed off the side of the road in the chaos and went tumbling down nearly 33 feet into the ravine below.
Four people were killed on site and a fifth died after being transported to a nearby hospital. 15 more were injured, but their current conditions are not known. It is not clear if the truck driver with failed brakes was one of the people injured or killed in the incident.
