Cab plummets, trailer dangles after fiery wreck on LA overpass

Published:

A truck driver managed to escape a wreck that sent his cab plunging off the side of a highway in Los Angeles on Friday morning.

The accident happened on January 29th at around 3:30 a.m. on the eastbound 10 Freeway near Santa Fe Avenue.

According to CBS Los Angeles, the big rig overturned and caught fire, and the force of the impact left the cab dangling over the side of the overpass, where it eventually plummeted to the ground below.

Luckily, the truck driver was able to escape the wrecked rig uninjured before the cab slipped off the highway. One other person was transported to the hospital.

The incident forced the shutdown of the 10 Freeway as crews worked to clear the wreckage, creating major backups.

The exact reason for the crash is still unclear.
