Police in Alabama have confirmed that they are moving forward with charges in the case of two men suspected of shooting a truck driver to death during a robbery attempt.
The Jackson Police Department has confirmed that capital murder warrants have been issued for Hikeem Edmond, 22, and Kylyn Taylor, 20, in relation to the January 28 murder of log truck driver Thearthor Dixon, 72, in Jackson, Alabama.
Police also said that they have physical evidence collected that matches evidence collected at the crime scene, but they declined to provide more information due to the ongoing investigation, WKRG reports.
Both men were arrested on unrelated charges on January 29 and are being held at the Montgomery County Detention Center.
Dixon was found dead near his truck at a gravel pit site in Jackson, Alabama, in the early morning hours of January 28. He was shot multiple times in what is thought to have been a robbery attempt.
Dixon’s body was found by a worker at a nearby gravel pit, who called 911.
