CMV border crossing blocked for “unknown duration” thanks to overturned semi truck

A commercial vehicle border crossing is currently closed for an “unknown duration” after a semi truck overturned and struck a utility pole. 

The accident happened on Wednesday, April 7th at around 6:20 a.m. at the Otay Mesa crossing in San Diego, California. 

According to The San Diego Union-Tribune, the semi truck was hauling pecans when it lost control, struck a utility pole, and overturned in the roadway. The impact damaged the pole and forced the closure of the roadway. 

As of 11 a.m. the intersection of Lamedia Road and Truck was still closed, and is expected to remain closed for an unknown period as crews work to repair the pole, clear the wreckage, and investigate the incident.
