Colorado troopers tell truckers to ‘find a chain station & wait it out’ after crash closes I-70 and US 6

Colorado State Police (CSP) are asking eastbound truck drivers to wait it out after a serious crash involving a semi truck and a tow truck.

The crash occurred around 1:45 p.m. three miles east of Georgetown, Colorado.

CSP says that a tow truck and semi truck were involved in a collision on eastbound I-70 at mile marker 231.

Critical injuries have been reported.

A diesel fuel spill was also reported.

Troopers have not provided information on the cause of the crash.

CSP’s Eagle Division reports that eastbound I-70 is closed at Exit 205 in Silverthorne.

Eastbound U.S. 6 is also closed at mile marker 217.

“Eastbound Semi’s – Find a chain station and Wait It Out,” CSP tweeted.

Troopers say that drivers should expect significant delays for an extended period.
