Community filing lawsuits against trucking company responsible for major fuel spill

Published:

A community in Michigan has begun filing lawsuits against a trucking company involved in a massive oil spill earlier this summer.

The tanker truck accident and subsequent fuel spill happened on June 25th in Hancock, Michigan on US Highway 41.

According to ABC 10 UP News, the K-and-V Transport tanker truck overturned on US 41, spilling 6,500 gallons of gasoline mixed with diesel. The spilled fuel then infiltrated the storm drains, forcing some residents to leave their homes and closing multiple businesses for more than a day.

People, businesses, and organizations impacted by the fuel spill are now able to file claims with Great West Casualty Company. Anyone looking to file a claim against the trucking company should detail the amount of damage caused and include all available forms of evidence.

Claims can be submitted to Russ Beardsley. The mailing address is:
Great West Casualty, Co.

or via email [email protected], claim number – R 19277.
