Construction worker airlifted after jumping off bridge to avoid crashing semi truck

A construction worker was seriously hurt on Thursday afternoon after jumping off a bridge to avoid a wreck involving a semi truck. 

The incident happened on June 3rd at around 3:30 p.m. in Evening Shade, Arkansas. 

According to KAIT 8 News, a semi truck was heading south on Highway 167 when it struck at least two vehicles. The wreck sent the vehicles skidding towards a construction worker doing curb work in the area, who then jumped 20 feet off of the bridge he was working on to avoid being struck. 

The construction worker was airlifted from the site, but no other injuries were reported. 

The reason for the wreck has not been released.
