Published:

Authorities in Wisconsin are responding to multiple pileup crashes on I-41 between Slinger and Lomira.

The Wisconsin State Patrol has reported multiple crashes on I-41 in Washington and Dodge Counties that occurred during winter weather conditions.

One person reportedly died in an 18 vehicle pileup on I-41 near Slinger, Wisconsin. Several others were hurt.

In the video below, the truck traveling in front of the dash cammer becomes part of a large pileup in Washington County.

The Washington County Sheriff’s Office released a message around 2 p.m. CST asking drivers to avoid I-41:

The Washington County Sheriff’s Office is asking the public to avoid I41 from STH 60 to the north county line of STH 28 due to a series of multi-vehicle accidents spanning that entire stretch of Interstate. The entire stretch of Interstate is closed as first responders assess and triage three separate chain reaction accidents due to weather related factors. The three main areas of concern are in the area of CTH D in the Town of Wayne and the areas of STH 144 and Cedar Creek Rd in the Town of Polk. The sheriff’s office will provide updates as they become available, but significant traffic delays will occur as emergency operations continue along that entire stretch.

Multiple agencies are on the scene.

This is a developing story.
