Traffic is backed up for miles in Maryland after a quick-thinking reaction from a truck driver left garbage strewn across the highway.
The incident happened on Monday, April 5th at around 2 p.m. on Interstate 95 south.
According to NBC Washington, the semi truck was hauling garbage along I-95 near the exit to MD-32 in Elkridge when their trailer full of garbage caught fire. When the driver realized what was happening, he dumped the load in order to help extinguish the flames and protect the truck, leaving a huge mess along I-95 south.
As of 2:20 p.m., only one lane of traffic was moving through the area, causing backups up to four miles long.
No injuries were reported, but as of 2:20 p.m., there is no estimated time of reopening.
