Driver walks away after rig plunges off Texas overpass

A truck driver is okay after plummeting over the side of an overpass in Texas early on Monday morning. 

The accident happened on September 13th at around 3:30 a.m. in Fort Worth, Texas. 

According to CBS DFW, the tractor trailer was traveling on Highway 287 when, for unknown reasons, it went over the guardrail and plummeted to the ground below, landing on Bonds Ranch Road. 

The rig was completely destroyed, but the unnamed driver was able to escape the mangled truck on their own. Their current health condition is not known. 

Both the north and southbound sides of the highway were shut down as crews worked to clear the wreckage. The highway was completely reopened by approximately 7:30 a.m.
