Drunk trucker downs several utility poles

A truck driver was charged after downing several utility poles in New York on Tuesday. 

The incident happened on May 18th in Clay, New York. 

According to CNY Central News, the 42-year-old trucker was driving along Wells Avenue at Belmore Drive when he struck multiple utility poles, knocking them to the ground. 

Police responded to the scene and quickly determined that the driver was drunk. The semi truck was then towed away and the unnamed driver has been charged with driving while impaired by drugs and alcohol, and violating restrictions of commercial vehicle use on village roadways. 

Multiple companies worked to restore power in the area, and the incident has since been resolved.
